"The weather improved dramatically over that of yesterday. Temperature was able to climb into the 50s today, but the wind made it seem much colder. The skies were sunny all day, making my spirits high. The shelter here is overflowing, with some people pitching tents nearby. Tomorrow we climb over Clingmans Dome, at 6,643 feet the highest point on the AT. I expect the first few hours of the day to be difficult. I hope the weather will hold. If all works as planned, I should be at Icewater Springs tomorrow afternoon."
